About COMPASS
As an undergraduate student, you are required to take the Computerized
Placement Assessment and Support System (COMPASS) test as part of your
orientation. The COMPASS test provides you with an opportunity to establish a
baseline level of skills and knowledge in mathematics, reading, and writing. At
the end of your degree program, you are required to retake the COMPASS test
during the capstone course to evaluate the change in your skill levels.
COMPASS test results also provide WIU with a means of monitoring the quality of
educational products and procedures and serves as a basis for continuous
program improvement.
