The Western International University New Student Orientation binder is designed to introduce you to all aspects of WIU, one of the finest Arizona business colleges, and to provide you with the information and tools necessary for your academic success, including University services, policies and procedures, student responsibilities, and faculty expectations. If you are a domestic student, you receive these materials at the time of application. If you are an international student, you receive the binder upon your arrival at WIU.

About COMPASS

As an undergraduate student, you are required to take the Computerized Placement Assessment and Support System (COMPASS) test as part of your orientation. The COMPASS test provides you with an opportunity to establish a baseline level of skills and knowledge in mathematics, reading, and writing. At the end of your degree program, you are required to retake the COMPASS test during the capstone course to evaluate the change in your skill levels.

COMPASS test results also provide WIU with a means of monitoring the quality of educational products and procedures and serves as a basis for continuous program improvement.
